More than 30 college campuses nationwide have begun allowing men and women to share dorm rooms
http://blogs.usatoday.com/ondeadline/2008/04/colleges-put-me.htmlI think it's an interesting idea but feel that people in relationships might rush things and live together and could end very badly. There is a growing number of lesbian/gay/transgender people nowadays and the question remains what kind of housing they should get as well.
i think it's a good thing to do- montclair allows men and women to share rooms at the soph/jr level but all people involved have to sign something saying it's okay. a lot of kids in relationships may rush things and live together but it's their mistake to make i guess.
as for gay/lesbian/transgendered people- they should have the same housing as everyone else, it's not a disease or anything, it is just their sexual orientation.
