In February of 2006 Facebook began allowing anyone with an email address to register.  Do you think this was beneficial, or should Facebook have stayed reserved for college students?

I wish it would have stayed solely for college students.  It was an escape from the cluttered, annoying world of Myspace.  Now they've expanded to everyone, added music players, and all these other applications.  Some aspects of these new things are fun, but in the end I think it's just a giant step for Facebook becoming the new Myspace.  I'm just wondering which corporation will submit the highest bid to own Facebook so they can compete with Myspace for advertising/endorsements and what not.

we can all say that facebook is better off being kept only for college students and i personally agree with that notion also...but at the same time if you're in Mark Zuckerberg's position who could say no to the option of making facebook one of the most visited websites on the net and become a multibillionaire. This is just very dangerous area for facebook right now because this whole plan could come back and bite them in the ass.

Yes it definitely should have. Facebook was a college social network, and MySpace was a general social network. It should have stayed that way.
