You do realize that everything that you do, anywhere, anytime is recorded in some sort of database.

Everytime you use your credit card, your bank card, anytime you give out your SIN number, your Driver's License number.

That's all recorded as well..

Furthermore, Skynet was the artificial intelligence computer that a private company got the American government to put in charge of their entire air defense unit in the "Terminator" movie.
So what you're stating is that through Facebook collecting information on us, Mark Zuckerberg plans to sell his database of information on users to the American government to control it's Defense?

I don't think you understand.  Facebook servers run on a specialized CPU.  That CPU is a neuro-net processor, a learning computer.  Furthermore, I think this picture taken of Mark at a recent event is proof enough.  http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/9359/markei1.jpg

Seriously though, I see your argument.  I don't think its too far fetched to say that the government has the resources and ability to track you similar to the methods used in the movie "Enemy of the State."  They can turn on your cell phone microphone, track you using the phones GPS, track you using your car's GPS, use local cams at stop lights and buildings to see your movements, etc.  Now for a terrorist that may be necessary, but for everyday people thats an incredible wast of resources.  However, if people are knowingly putting their information out there, under the illusion they have privacy, then that cuts out all the cost of trying to gather it in the first place.

Also, with articles such as these, it may not be completely out of the question:
