Over winter break I want to go snowboarding in either Canada or somewhere out West.  I know places like student city do cheap packages for college students for spring break, but can anyone reccomend a good place to look for winter packages to a ski resort?

I hadn't compared too many places because my friends and I knew we wanted to go to Vail over break, so if you were interested in Vail, which is AMAZING, we found a pretty good deal directly from Vail.com They are having a little bit of a winter sale going on if you book online and it includes lodging and lift tickets with a 5 mountain pass.  I believe you do have to book by Feb. and it does not give you too many lodging options, but if you aren't that picky we found it to be a great deal. Also, the flight rates weren't that bad on priceline.com either...hope that helps! I love skiing there!!!!

Thanks, I'll look into it.

I'm not too picky at all. I basically just want to get out there to see what the riding is like out west or far up north.  I know the conditions aren't even comparable to what the east has to offer.

Do you go to Vail every year?

How about we just hitch a sled to the back of the party bus.  I'm sure it'll seem like a great idea by the time we're leaving Snuffys.

hahah yea exactly, but as a loyal eastern kid I still love my mountains here!!  But, if you do get the chance there is nothing like Colorado. I don't go every year, but whenever I have a chance I like to get out there, totally different perspective.  It will only be like my fourth time there, it's hard to go far with school and stuff.  Also, if you don't have alot of time to travel, Vermont is pretty sweet as well if you haven't been there.

yeah, I've been up to Vermont before.  Only to Okemo and Stowe.

I'm actually heading up to Mt Snow on January 11th with my friend.  He got a package through the University of Rhode Island for the weekend.  Vermont has some good mountains but the one thing I hate is how it always gets so icy towards the end of the day.  I assume its the combination of crowded trails and man made snow.

One place I would reccomend is Gore Mountain in North Creek, NY.  http://www.goremountain.com/  Its probably one of the best mountains I've ridden.  Not too far of a drive and not overly crowded.  Plus the terrain has a lot to offer.
