I think having a player like David Beckham will raise the popularity of soccer in the US and bring in more viewers, but I don't think it will grow to the level it has in other countries.

Yea, sports like soccer, volleyball, and others won't really ever get very popular here.  The majority of Americans want a sport where they can watch people get the crap beat out of them.  Ie: football, hockey, boxing, etc...  All these other sports I think are just too "timid" for Americans.

It's not really been the type of season that Beckham was expecting to have. Right now he's injured and probably not coming back for at least a month.
