Basically this kid Kevin Colvin had an internship at some bank.  He told them he couldn't come in because he had a family emergency and had to go to NY.  It ended up he just wanted to go to some party instead.  So he went to this party and put the pictures up on facebook.  A coworker must not have believed him and pulled up his facebook to find the pictures and told the boss.

Its so stupid because now he can't put that bank on his resume, which would have really helped him when looking for a job.

How many times does this have to happen before people realize that you shouldn't post anything online that you can't explain to your grandmother?
Google: Tarleton, MLK party, facebook
Sensitivity training, apologies, Klan rally, and heaps of embarrassment.

Here is a write up(with pictures) I found on what you were referring to.

I have to agree with you.  I don't understand why people don't realize that even though you set your facebook or myspace profile to private it doesn't ultimately mean it is.  Plus, I thought it was known that some potential employers search these sites to get a "different perspective" of their job candidates.

Whats funny is that this kid probably would have gotten away with going to the party, had he not posted the pictures.

Yea I'm not sure if anyone remembers that big story that broke a couple of months ago about the Northwestern Women's Soccer team. It seems like you hear about a story like this all the time. If you're applying for a job or internship you should know by now that employers are going to check your facebook. The same goes for people looking to transfer schools or apply for graduate school.
