Is anyone picking up the Iphone when it is released at the end of June?  I just saw this video on gizmodo which spoofs the Iphone commercial showing a potential downslide of a touchscreen interface.

http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/good-point/iphone-commercial-spoof-shows-downside-of-touchscreen-270574.php?autoplay=true

I personally think that the Iphone has a ton of very useful features, but the main things that hurt it is the cost (around 500 dollars), the need for a data plan if you are not in a WiFi area (15 a month?), and then of course the touchscreen interface as shown above.

Apple comes out with cool stuff...but most of the time they can be kinda impractical and seem to crap out a lot.  For that price Apple better deliver.

I think the Iphone has a lot of great features such as the ability to look at your messages almost the same way that you look at your text messages so you can just delete any of the ones that you don't want. The thing I really don't like is that there are no buttons which can become especially annoying if you're trying to text in places like class where often times you can't look down, with real buttons and T9 it's pretty easy to do but when you don't have that feel it becomes harder. The other thing I never really liked about apple in general is how hard they make it to modify their products. Almost everyone has experienced a problem with their ipod battery at some point but the only way you can get it fixed is if you take it to the store and have them open your ipod up for you. This might be a good idea for people not comfortable with electronics but for me personally it becomes a hassle.

My friend from work actually has the Iphone and I need to admit that I am impressed it delivers a lot of what it promised. The thing I was most concerned about was the keypad for texting, but the system that Apple developed seems to work well, the only problem occurs when you are trying to a less common word that is similar to a more popular word but it doesn't happen that often. I'm interested to see how long they hold up though, Apple has always seemed to have battery problems and the fact that the battery is closed up makes it much harder to swap out. Rumor also has it that the next gen IPod is gonna be like the Iphone in that it has no buttons.

putting an " i " in front of a product doesn't make it cool.  I love smudging up the screen of my iPhone after every 5 seconds of use because i have to type in "skateboarding dog" on a virtual keyboard.  I also must have the ability to watch "skateboarding dog" on youtube anywhere i am because i need the internet everywhere.  Its also great because after i finish talking to someone on it it i leave a nice iFace print on the screen.

i do get lots of chicks though.

Oh man I love Maddox and actually read that article awhile back. I was shocked when Time named the Iphone the innovation of the year. Any phone with Windows Mobile and wi-fi could do anything that the Iphone does.

I'm glad you're a fan of the 8525. I was actually just about to order it but then AT@T went a raised the price on me. Right now it's the same price as the 8925 (Tilt) so I'm probably just gonna ask for that for my b-day.  Grin

Right now both of them are the same price so I just figured I'd go for the new one. They both seemed to have almost the same features because they both run off of Windows Mobile 6. My main concern for a phone now is just that it has wi-fi because then I'd be able to go online whenever I'm on campus, sometimes if I'm lucky I can even pick up my RU wireless from my house.

I am not sure if the tilt has wi-fi
but I know the 8525 does
It is pretty good at picking up just about any wireless internet
