I can't tell you how many people I know that were going to good schools out of state, have decided to  come home and transfer to Rutgers.  It's also weird because it seems to be a lot of people from my grad class.  I don't know if the main reason has been the cost of out-of-state schools,  homesickness, or what it is.

NOTE: This really doesn't have much to do with discussing Rutgers so I figured it was better in off-topic.

A lot of times people move away thinking the school they chose was a good choice, and find out its not what they had expected (be it the people, the courses, the activities).  Rutgers is a great alternative because it is a very good school, plus if you live in state the tuition is very cheap.  You are able to continue your education and transfer to a new school, or even get your degree from RU (which isn't half bad  )

I know for my HS graduating class so many people graduated and said they would only return home when they had to and were so excited about starting "school name" in the fall.  A year later they were back home, and everyone has there own story why it just didn't work out.

Most of my friends have remained away but even just looking at price you can see what Rutgers is a good choice. The fact that I'm able to remain out of debt is a good selling point for me even though tuition has risen by 6% every year
