It was nice to see a packed stadium at VTech after what happened there.  They were able to pull of a win today in their opener, even though they didn't play too well.  17-7 over East Carolina, incase you missed it.

Notre Dame got spanked by Georgia Tech 33-3...geeeooddd dayymmnnn  Cheesy

Rutgers game was quite one sided as well.  Rice and Underwood ran circles around Buffalo. 38-3.

The Notre Dame loss does not me surprise me at all. Any time the Irish have a half decent team they will always get so much media coverage and end up scheduling teams that are completely out of their league just for the money. They should just join a conference already and get rid of this independent bs.

Another interesting game over the weekend was the Michigan State game where they lost to a I-AA team. They went from being #5 to being unranked. Fortunately that helped everyone move up one spot, including Rutgers who is now sitting at #15.

Well looks like Michigan really doesn't have it this year...I thought that they would rebound and beat Oregon but they got beat down again

College Rankings were released again today (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/rankingsindex) West Virginia ended up dropping to 4 even though they won by over 20 points

Yea, it reminds me of HS Volleyball days when they came out with the rankings for states...they almost never made sense.

Yea I don't understand why the NCAA doesn't just have a playoff system. Don't give that excuse that it would hurt the students by extending the season, football players in college get about a two week break and even then if you're not in the weight room "on your own" then don't plan on playing next season. Just set some sort of benchmark that if you win 8 games (record of 8-4) means you automatically get a seed. There is always too much controversy

We had a big controversy like that in HS Vball.  The governing body decided to go to best 2 of 3 format instead of 3 of 5.  Of course this was just because parents complained about their kids being home too late to do hw or whatever.  If you asked any of the players, including me, we wanted best 3 of 5 back.  2 of 3 was a joke, so short.  We wanted to play MORE not LESS.  I think college football players probably feel the same.
