So I had to drive back from NC to NJ today by myself.  I got bored along the way and took a few pictures of the things I saw.  Sorry for the poor quality, but they were all taken with my phone.

Tractor trailer carrying only new corvettes in assorted colors.

Its hard to make out, but the license plate on this car was "DYKES."

A tractor trailer about 50 feet in the air.

Just because...  occasion14

I was born and raised in New York, but it's been a long time since I've done an east coast road trip.  Do they stilll have those gigantic billboards that say "fireworks" every few miles, then when you finally get to the place that sells them, it's a tiny shack with more gigantic signs to make it look bigger?

Well the majority of my trip was spent on 81.  81 runs more inland whereas 95 is more coastal and goes through Washington DC.  95 is where you usually see those big "Fireworks & Shrimp" signs.  I'm not sure where you're living now, but a good place to get fireworks is phantom fireworks on 78.  Its right on the NJ/PA border.  Coming from NJ go through the toll and its for very first exit in PA (I believe its Easton).

....of course if you also need shrimp, then I reccomend one of the establishments on 95.   Grin

Oh, good.  It's comforting to know that some things are still the same.  (I'm in California now.)

The one place I hate the most in regards to fireworks is South of the Border. I believe it's once your cross into North Carolina. It's honestly just a whole town replica town devoted to selling fireworks and they must have the most annoying billboards when I'm driving down or up.

It was a little over 600 miles, and I did it on 2 1/2 tanks of gas.

Wow, that's a lot of miles.  I know my friend used to go to VTech and it was a 400-something mile drive.  He could do it in his 97 Honda Accord on one tank of gas, and still have enough to putt around NJ for the rest of the day!  Clever Japs!
