What is College Colosseum?
College Colosseum was created so that students at various colleges could have an open forum to discuss topics at their school as well as contribute to topics at other schools. We are basing this site around you, the user, to do with it what you will. You can talk about social events, share class notes, whatever you want. If there is something you think this site could use, let us know and we will do our best to make it happen.
Why do you use the "Colosseum" spelling instead of the more common "Coliseum"?
There is a variant of the spelling, spelled "Coliseum." The variant is meant to refer to other large structures that allow similar events that the "Colosseum" in ancient Rome would hold, such as plays, sporting events, or any other public display, however the spelling "Colosseum" came first, where as "Coliseum" is a more new age spelling. As you may have noticed our logo depicts the ancient Colosseum in Rome, which is why we opted for the spelling we did. Furthermore the Roman Colosseum was a central hub for all activity in Rome, and we tried to play off that and form our site to be a central hub for all college students.
Is this site only for college students?
College Colosseum was designed with college students in mind. While we do not force people to have a .edu email account in order to register, we do cover topics primarily in the interest of college students.

Yes. Our user content site is on a separate server and uses a separate database. We did this to help balance the traffic load. We have also found that not everyone who uses the forum and wants to upload content, and not everyone who uploads content wants to participate on the forum. |
